inSYNC Unsigned: Hallan

Born from personal confrontation and inspired by the close-minded toxicity of middle-class youth, Portsmouth’s post-punk four-piece Hallan craft raw music delivered straight from the soul. Not just speaking volumes with their music alone, Hallan makes sure that their energetic live performances, grungy instrumentation and well thought-out lyricism also do the talking. The band’s new single ‘Fish Frenzy’ gives ears a massive helping of personality with a dollop of ferocity coupled with spasmodic guitar riffs and ‘80s-style basslines. The track was recently featured as BBC Introducing Track of the Week by BBC Radio Solent. Despite only forming in January 2018, Hallan has already headlined Portsmouth’s best independent live music venue, embarked on a six-date UK headline tour and are set to record their next single in the very same recording studio previously used by some big industry names including The Cure, Foals, Royal Blood and The Wytches. Viva la post-punk revolution!
