Groove Armada at Halo, Bournemouth

Get Satisfied have been consistently putting on great events in the Bournemouth area for some time. The company specialise in underground music events, mainly with tech house DJs, and have so far booked a lot of big names including Artwork, Joris Voorn, Jamie Jones and Boddika. Get Satisfied also host Bournemouth’s Somerley Tea Party festival, which is now in its 3rd year. This year is set to be very exciting for the event organisers with the addition of camping and a bigger and better lineup than ever before.

For their 4th birthday celebration, Get Satisfied put on their first event at Bournemouth’s popular Halo nightclub. Their choice of booking was sure to be an excellent night; big time house duo Groove Armada were invited down to lead proceedings. Of course, supported by Get Satisfied’s excellent selection of resident DJs; Charlie Banks, Abstract Culture and Jack Light.

Groove Armada is made up of Andy Cato and Tom Findlay, who have enjoyed major success ever since they began in 1996. The duo achieved big chart success with famous singles ‘I See You Baby’ and ‘Superstylin”, and have so far released eight studio albums. Four of which charted in the UK Albums Chart top 50. The pair played an energetic set; a house-orientated performance using new tech/house tracks like Bicep’s ‘Just’ as well as some big classics. Not forgetting some of their own hits. This said ‘Superstylin” was not played to its fullest extent, using a remixed version. A shame really as it didn’t give the duo the credit they deserve as DJs.

Nonetheless, Get Satisfied’s first outing to Halo was well thought out, and keeps the event organiser on track for future projects in Bournemouth. With their 3rd annual Somerley Tea Party fast approaching its sure to keep Get Satisfied in Bournemouth’s full public view.
