inSYNC’s ‘Needed’ Track of the Week: ‘New Light’ by John Mayer

American singer/songwriter and guitarist John Mayer has released a new track just thirteen months after the release of his seventh studio record, ‘The Search for Everything’. Fans are now expecting the eighth album to follow later in 2018. The forty-year-old has won a multitude of awards over the years, performing some high profile gigs and festivals and with many famous artists including Counting Crows, Maroon 5 and Train.

This week our ‘Needed’ track is ‘New Light’, a smooth flowing pop song, which helps accentuate Mayer’s impressive guitar playing talents. The melody and rhythm of the song are catchy with the singer’s vocals giving the track substance. The guitar solo pulls some influence from disco with a complimenting riff and double claps thrown into the beat.
