inSYNC’s Latest ‘Needed’ Track: Beat Assassins ft. SiFu Chan ‘Ramm Out’
This week our ‘Needed’ track is a jump up dnb tune. This high energy track comes from drum & bass artists Beat Assassins. The producer creates his own unqiue dnb style, which is quirky and bouncy, yet powerful and certainly belongs in a club. Although the name is plural Beat Assassins is just one man called Jimmy Mofo. Mofo began his DJ career in the mid nineties establishing a weekly dnb & breakbeat night called Mofo @ The Borderline Club, London and Plant Earth @ The Limelight Cub, London.
Come 2006 Jimmy started Beat Assassins with Joe Lenzie from commercial dnb duo Sigma. Beat Assassins became a fundamental part of the breakbeat scene winning various music awards and DJing at major music events around the world that included Australia, USA, Russia and European countries such as Spain and Germany. Beat Assassins released their tracks through their music label Mofo Recordings, most of which went straight into the top 10 in the breakbeat charts in DJ Magazine & download site Beatport.
By 2010 the electronic music scene had changed so much with the introduction of dubstep alongside other exciting new genres such as fidget & bassline house, that Beat Assassins eventually found themselves in a scene that was no longer musically relevant to what they were producing. This then resulted in Jimmy & Joe amicably going their own separate ways.
Now in 2015 Jimmy is going back to his roots producing drum & bass under the Beat Assassins moniker. A strong selection of new Beat Assassins tracks have been mastered and are ready to go. Watch out for Beat Assassins ultra ego Space Yardie created by the vocalist SiFu Chan. This persona features in their latest video . The Space Yardie is seen wandering the streets of London accompanied by Parkour free runners escaping the mundane grind of everyday life. This quirky roller is one of the forth coming releases from Beat Assassins alongside many more to come!
Track coming very soon. Watch this space!
