inSYNC’s Weekly Festival News (March 13th 2017)

Festival news continues to roll in with another district lineup from Boomtown, Truck Festival releases their full 2017 lineup and Bestival shows us what their new campsites will be named at their new home in Dorset.

Boomtown Fair

Boomtown truly is one of the UK’s festival wonders. It’s a non-commercial masterpiece of arts, culture and music, and fully immerses every one of its so-called ‘citizens’ in its indescribable experiences. The festival has ballooned to a staggering 60,000 since Boomtown’s streets first opened in 2009. Boomtown Fairs’ mind-blowing creative landscape is utterly diverse, eclectic and simply inspiring. If all festivals took on Boomtown’s wild, weird and entertaining approach to their creative installations then the world would be a better place. And, if you throw in the festival’s fictional yet real-esque backstory, which develops with each passing year, then you’re in for one hell of an experience.

The festival keeps raining lineups upon us; this week the Psychedelic district lineup was announced with its four adventurous venues, including Boomtown’s infamous Psy Forest. Astrix, Ace Ventura, Alpha Portal and Juno Reactor all take top spots at this year’s festival.

Truck Festival

Now celebrating its twentieth anniversary, Truck Festival is one of the UK’s finest small festivals. The event plays host to just 5,000 people every July at Hill Farm in Steventon, Oxfordshire. The event grew to a three-day affair on its thirteenth year seeing bigger acts take to the festival’s stages.

2017 is set to the biggest year so far for the festival, with an incredible lineup of bands. Brit rock group The Libertines will headline Friday night with indie rock band Franz Ferdinand taking the Saturday slot and The Vaccines closing the event Sunday night. Other top British bands provide support including The Wombats, Slaves and Maximo Park. A number of other bands are also on the roster including a number of big name dance acts providing the nighttime entertainment. DJs from TQD, SASASAS and Elijah & Skilliam are just are few of what’s on offer.

Bestival

After thirteen successful years at Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight, Bestival curator Rob da Bank announced that the four-day festival will indeed move to the Lulworth Estate in Dorset. Rob da Bank and the Bestival team told fans of the festival that it would move to the same site as family-orientated sister festival Camp Bestival.

After an appeal for name ideas on social media, Bestival has announced the colourful names that its campsites would adopt at this year’s festival. Bestival will have five campsites named ‘Rainbow Rave’, ‘Golden Years’, ‘White Noise’, ‘Emerald City’, and ‘Back In Black’.
