Bestival Brings New Festival To Southampton

Bestival, on the Isle of Wight, is now one of the biggest and best festivals in the UK, and this year Rob da Bank and his team are sailing to the mainland to bring us Common People; a two-day metropolitan jamboree set in the verdant surrounds of Southampton Common. For its first year, Common People has an outstanding lineup with Fatboy Slim, Grace Jones, Clean Bandit and De La Soul topping the bill. Bestival is certainly a unique festival, and hopefully that magic fusion of music, arts, dance and food will be bought to Southampton.

The 23rd and 24th May will see the festival land! Bestival and Common People organiser, Rob da Bank said: ‘It’s been a long time coming to launch a new show from the Bestival family. We thought long and hard before deciding to base our new show in Southampton… I played my first ever DJ gig in Southampton when I was 16, so this is a real home coming for me.’

Although the event is non-camping, it gives two full days worth of music, with some of the latest and best acts. Artists include chart-topping, classical-infusion pop group Clean Bandit, British DJ Fatboy Slim, eclectic DJ Jaguar Skills, two-piece garage band Slaves, and raw house DJ Friend Within.

Get your ticket now for only £55 for the weekend. Tickets available at ticketline.co.uk/common-people
