The Maccabees Are Splitting After 14 Years

In a Tweet poster this morning, indie band The Maccabees have announced that they are splitting after fourteen years as a band. The group stated that they are to go their separate ways at their “creative peak”.

The group’s last album ‘Marks to Prove It’ was their first number one in the UK, and the band played a number of high profile gigs in the last twelve months including their headline slot at Latitude Festival.

“The decision has obviously been anincredibly difficult one, given that The Maccabees has been such a huge part of our lives until now,” the band said in a statement.

The band have not given a particular reason for their decision, but have said there have been “no fallings out”.

We will have to wait and see what is next in each band member’s music careers.
