inSYNC’s ‘Needed’ Track of the Week: ‘Tslamp’ by MGMT

US indie pop duo MGMT have released their fourth studio album ‘Little Dark Age’ on Friday. The album has been highly anticipated by fans, and comes almost five years after the group’s last LP. The singles leading up to the record have been well received, offering listeners a new, well thought out sound from the band. MGMT’s infectious pop melodies and ‘80s inspired beats and basslines make Little Dark Age incredibly catchy. The pair have said to of been influenced heavily by New Order and Talking Heads. ‘Tslamp’ (an abbreviation of ‘Time spent looking at my phone’) is this week’s ‘Needed’ track. This song stays true to the tune of a great pop song but the lyrics offer a deep sense of unease that makes it interesting and unforgettable. ‘Little Dark Age’ is our favourite album so far in 2018.
