Gabriel Rios to Support The Staves in Bournemouth

This coming Sunday, 8th November, will see acclaimed Puerto Rican/Belgian singer and songwriter Gabriel Rios support folk rock sister trio The Staves at Bournemouth University’s Old Fire Station.

Gabriel Rios has recently signed to Sony/Columbia records, and his most recent album release, ‘This Marauder’s Midnight’, reached number 1 in the album chart in his native country Belgium. You may recognise Rios’ voice from the Thomas Jack remix of ‘Gold’, a viral YouTube hit. He has also covered The Staves’ ‘Sadness Don’t Own Me’.

The Puerto Rican-born singer is on tour with The Staves throughout the UK this October and November. The new album has been described as an ‘illustrated short story’. This is because the special edition of the record included an illustrated short story about an infamous serial hair-fetishist in fin de siècle Paris that manages to get himself caught red-handed by an unlikely heroine while trying to obtain yet another trophy for his abominable collection.

This really adds an extra, creative dimension to Rios’ work, and will make you love the album even more. Why not go see this extraordinary performer on Sunday? It’ll definitely be worth your time.
