Radio 1’s Big Weekend Announced for Exeter

Radio 1’s annual Big Weekend music festival will this year take place at Powderham Castle in Exeter on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th May.

Coldplay, in front man, Chris Martin’s hometown will headline the event, which is Europe’s largest free ticketed festival.

Also announced are dance duo Chase and Status, Sheffield rock band Bring Me The Horizon, Hereford chart topper Ellie Goulding and Southampton singer songwriter Craig David.

Big weekend, which has toured the UK since 2003 has previously been held in Manchester, Cardiff, Londonderry twice, Birmingham, Sunderland, Dundee, Lancashire, Maidstone, Swindon, Bangor, Carlisle, Hackney, Glasgow and Norwich.
