We were lucky enough to get to speak to DJ Ruffstuff ahead of his performance.

You are playing a back to back to back set with Bryan G & JJ Frost. Its going to be all V Classics? And if so, What gems from the back catalogue can we expect?

As most people know, the V Recordings back-cat is full of gems so its kind of hard to not to say. All of them really lol! If the other guys dont get to them first ill be drawing for tracks like ‘Angles’ by Krust, “Function” by Ed Rush & Optical, ‘Stay’ by Kamanchi, to name just a few. Then theres the unreleased Dubs folder, but you will have to come along to find out about them…

You have been involved with V Recordings for a long time. What would say the label has bought to Drum & Bass?

Theres not many labels you can look at and say that they was a big part of the journey thru dnb as a whole. V is definitely one of them. Not only has it brought through some of the biggest names in the scene, but it has also released music thats changed the scene. i think V and a handful of other labels have been really influential, and will continue to be.

If you had to pick 3 tracks that define the label musically or culturally, what would they be?

I think picking 3 is really hard as theres so many, but heres 3 that for me are special.

Jazz Note – DJ Krust

LK – DJ Marky & XRS Ft. Stamina MC

Play It For Me – DJ Die
