Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden Announced as Download 2016 Headliners

Birmingham Rock band Black Sabbath and London Heavy Metal band Iron Maiden have been announced as the first two headliners for next year’s Download Festival.

The annual rock festival will take place on the weekend of 10th-12th June 2016, at Donington Park in Leicestershire.

It will be Black Sabbath’s third headline slot at Download since the festival begun in 2003 and will fall in their final The End Tour.

Iron Maiden, who headlined the first ever Download in 2003, will play the Sunday night of the Festival in 2016. The band last appeared at the festival in 2013 when they also headlined the Sunday night of the festival. The appearance is also set to be a 2016 UK exclusive show.

Download Festival 2015 was headlined by Slipknot, Muse and Kiss, with weekend appearances from Enter Shikari, Marilyn Manson, Faith No More and A Day To Remember plus many more.
