inSYNC’s ‘Needed’ Track of the Week: ‘The Whole World Tucked Away’ by Low Island

Indie electronic four-piece Low Island blend many influences including Caribou, Foals and LCD Soundsystem to create their cohesive sound. The Oxford group have marked their first birthday with a critically acclaimed UK tour selling out London’s Corsica Studios, as well as venues in Oxford, Bristol, Manchester and more. Low Island have recently added to their steadily growing catalogue of tracks; a six song EP dubbed ‘This Other Life’.

Our ‘Needed’ track this week is Low Island’s new single ‘The Whole World Tucked Away’, a song taken straight off the EP. A recent remix of the track by dance music producer Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs has seen the group gain some well-deserved limelight as well as thousands of YouTube views; only something positive when you’re trying to get your name out there. ‘The Whole World Tucked Away’ is an infectious dance number that combines a well-constructed set of lyrics with ‘80s-style beats and sampling. The guys are certainly ones to watch heading into 2019.
