A Day To Remember Cut Portsmouth Show Short
American punk-rock band, A Day To Remember were forced to halt preceedings just ten songs into the opening night of the All Signs Point To Britain UK tour at Portsmouth Guildhall on Wednesday 12th November due to a bad injury sustained to a fan. The young unnamed male fan plummeted from the seating balcony onto the unforgiving wooden floor below and suffered severe facial injuries.
A Day To Remember frontman Jeremy McKinnon initially announced to the crowd that the band would take a short break, however, after assessment of the situation the band and venue decided just ten minutes later to postpone the remainder of the show, much to the dismay of the sold out Portsmouth crowd, as the wellbeing of the fan was absolutely a priority.
Obviously the incident which happened during ‘The Document Speaks For Itself’ marred what had been an excellent Wednesday night gig, which featured deep drops and incredible vocals from Jeremy McKinnon, as well as a range of pyrotechnics including dry ice cannons, T – shirt shooting from superman, and confetti.
Everyone who was at the Guildhall will of course be hoping for a rescheduled show or something of similar sorts, however, this looks unlikely as the organisation that runs Portsmouth Guildhall have said there are no current plans for a reschedule or even a refund at this time as the incident was completely out of the venue and band’s hands. More news regarding the injured fan can be found at @PortsmouthGhall.
Supporting A Day To Remember in Portsmouth and for the entirety of the All Signs Point To Britain tour were English alternative rock bands Lower Than Atlantis and Decade.
