Oliver Hafenbauer at Night Tales, London

This weekend saw inSYNC make our debut at Hackney, tunnel-based nightclub Night Tales. The venue played host to record label Live At Robert Johnson who brought in three of their heavyweights to spin the night’s tunes. Fort Romeau, Ata and Oliver Hafenbauer made their way to East London all with fresh releases on the label. The music on offer was an eclectic mix of techno and tech/house splade across all three artists for all the night long.

Situated in the ex-railway arches beneath Hackney Central, Night Tales boasts East London’s largest outside terrace at 4000 square feet. The venue consists of a Japanese-inspired beer garden, cocktail bar and a 400-capacity nightclub with an incredible Funktion-One sound system; something worthy of some high-quality electronic music. The club also has a fantastic programme of well-organised music and a lineup of artists to match expectations.

Oliver Hafenbauer is a long-standing DJ, frequenting the Frankfurt club scene in Germany. Hafenbauer has always proven he has perfect sensibility for his DJing contexts, stylistically motivated to what is beat-driven and highly danceable. Hafenbauer showed this on the night, carefully working his way through an intricate set of techno to be proud of. The energy levels of his set kept the crowd driven, something fans of the producer have become accustomed to. The Night Tales set was nothing short of perfection, playing tracks within his space between dancey bangers and ambient electronica.

The DJ/producer has gained European recognition with his commitments to high profile venues in Germany and also now functions as music director for Robert Johnson. Having perspective as an artist himself, but also as a music manager, has seemingly helped Hafenbauer’s career as an artist and also enables opportunities for himself. This German DJ should be one that’s at the top of your list.
