Mutiny Returns to Portsmouth

Over ten thousand music lovers will transcend on King George V Fields in Cosham, Portsmouth in late May for the third Mutiny Festival. The festival which was first held in Victoria Park in Portsmouth in 2014, before hitting Fontwell Park in Chichester in July last year will feature a huge international lineup with a summer carnival theme in what will be the south coast’s biggest dance party of the summer.

The first artist to be announced in mid-January, as the Saturday night headliner was Swedish House Mafia’s Steve Angello. Steve Angello, who released debut album ‘Wild Youth’ in January will swap the likes of Ultra Music Festival, Tomorrowland and Las Vegas residencies for the muddy fields of Portsmouth for what will be a rare UK show.

Joining Steve Angello on the Saturday main stage bill will be Sub Focus + MC ID, Sister Bliss of Faithless, Riton, Toyboy and Robin, Charlie Tee, We Are Fly and The Streets’ Mike Skinner.

Headlining the Sunday night of Mutiny will be none other than Atlanta five-time Grammy winner CeeLo Green. Known for hits ‘Crazy’, ‘Forget You’, ‘It’s Ok’, CeeLo Green will appear in the UK for the first time since 2011’s Glastonbury Festival, so Mutiny will be in for a treat!

Also playing the main stage on the Sunday will be Example + DJ Wire, Mistajam with special guest Yungen, Jaguar Skills, SKT, Vato Gonzalez, Dubrocca/Leon Lour hosted by Club MTV’s Rewire and Varski.

Like last year, the festival will feature the Warehouse Big Top stage. Headlining The Warehouse Big Top on Saturday night will be London dance duo Groove Armada. The duo, who released their ‘Little Black Book’ album in July last year wouldn’t look out of place at the top of any festival bill with many bangers to their name. Joining Groove Armada on the Saturday Big Top lineup will be Kerri Chandler, Yousef, Bontan, M.A.X, Soul Divide and Amplified Records.

Sunday night’s Warehouse Big Top headliner will be Pete Tong MBE back to back with Patrick Topping. Pete Tong headlined the first Mutiny Festival in 2014. The Sunday Warehouse Big Top lineup will be completed by Shadow Child, Low Steppa, Krywolf, Toucan and Concrete DJ’s.

Also announced for Mutiny will be carnival performers, an Astoria secret disco, silent discos, as well as after parties in the city that will go on through the night!

Mutiny Festival 2016 will take place at King George V Playing Fields in Cosham, Portsmouth on the bank holiday weekend of 28-29th May.
