Scottish DJ and producer, Calvin Harris and Leicester rock band, Kasabian have been announced as headliners for this year’s V Festival.

Calvin Harris released his fourth studio album Motion which featured hits ‘Blame'(ft John Newman), ‘Summer’ and ‘Outside’ (ft. Ellie Goulding) in October last year and is no stranger to headlining festivals after headlining Isle of Wight, T in The Park and Creamfields in 2014. The V appearance, however, will be a rare 2015 UK show, with no other festivals or headline gigs currently scheduled.

Kasabian, who released their fifth studio album 48:13 featuring hits ‘Stevie’, ‘Eez Eh’ and ‘Bumblebee’ in June last year are also of course no strangers to headline slots, after headlining Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage in 2014 before embarking on a massive winter UK arena tour. The band have also been confirmed to headline Scotland’s T in The Park in July.

The two day Virgin Media festival will celebrate its twentieth anniversary this year at Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire on 22nd and 23rd August.

Also joining the very British bill are Welsh rockers, Stereophonics and London sensation Sam Smith, as well as The Script, Ellie Goulding, Paloma Faith, George Ezra, The Kooks, Clean Bandit, Chvrches, Kodaline, Ella Henderson, Jessie Ware, Duke Dumont, Gregory Porter, Ella Eyre, Imelda May, Olly Murs, Hozier, Courteeners, Nero Live, Tom Jones, Annie Mac, Labrinth, Andy C, Jess Glynne, Fuse ODG, Marin and The Diamonds, Hannah Wants, Reverend and The Makers, The Proclaimers and Grandmaster Flash Furious Five, with many more artists to be announced over the next few months!

Last year’s V Festival bill was topped by Justin Timberlake and The Killers, with weekend performances coming from Elbow, Ed Sheeran, Paulo Nutini, Example, Chase and Status, Bastille, Rudimental and many more.
