Love Saves The Night Is Almost Upon Us

Bristol’s Love Saves The Day are teaming up with city nightclub Motion on 29th May to host the latest in the series of ‘Love Saves The Night’. Following the success of last year’s after parties, that featured the likes of David Rodigan MBE and UK based duo Gorgon City, Motion and local event organisers such as The Blast, Gully Bristol and Take-Off have come together to provide 2016 with an all-star line up. 

The main room is to be headlined by a duo who go by the name of My Nu Leng. Based in Bristol, Jammo and Tommy have spent the last eighteen months sending shockwaves through the underground music scene. Recent collaborations have seen the pair work with fellow Bristolian Kahn on the track ‘Ruins’ and with Flava D on the track ‘Soul Shake’, they will provide their genre-blurring music to the afterparty.  At The Love Saves The Day festival itself, My Nu Leng will be playing back-to-back with Flava D on the Arcadia Stage for the Who Cares? takeover on Sunday.

The special guests of the night are UK grime group Section Boyz. Emerging from South London, the group have been a revelation in the grime industry. Since forming in 2010, they have boasted releases on the label Section, firstly with ‘Sectionly’ in 2014, then with ‘Don’t Panic’ in 2015, which reached Number 35 in the UK Album chart. Their good work has also been recognised by several awards, including ‘The Best Newcomer’ award at the MOBO’s in 2015.  Members of the group include Littlez, Inch, Sleeks, K Nine, Swift and Deepee. On the night you can expect an energy enthralled set, that will not disappoint.

Making up the Main room will be New York Transit Authority, who used to go by the name of ‘Mensah’ when producing Dubstep. Since the dubstep days, he has had releases on Redlight’s label ‘Lobster Boy’ with hugely popular underground music tracks like ’95’ and ‘Hard Work’.  DJ Barely Legal will also be gracing the decks at Motion again following her appearance in Bristol back in October. Having recently played for Mix Mag at The Lab London for their mixing series streamed online, we can assure you she is one not to be missed!

Last but not least, come Bristol based DJ collective SOBAD, consisting of DJ trio Sly-One, Bromley, Archive and Distro. Having recently come together, and following their debut in Blue Mountain last month, this will be a showcase of all their different styles put into one set, which is an exciting and very interesting prospect.

The Blast will be providing the line-up for the second warehouse.  The lineup is already made up of Breakage, Amy Becker, Jus Now and a Special Guest TBA.  The Blast residents Jaydrop, Ts2w, Fireman Sam and Koast will also be performing on the night. 

Having signed for Shy Fx’s Digital Soundboy, Breakage continues to be a influential figure in the UK dupstep and drum & bass scene. Well known for his collaborative track with Newham Generals called ‘Hard’, which was released in 2009, Breakage has kept the standard of his productions very high with releases like ‘Fighting Fire’ featuring Jess Mills which reached Number 34 in the charts.

Bass heavy DJ Madam X and Boofy and Hi5 Ghost have been brought in by Gully Bristol to provide beats in Motion’s The Tunnel. Hailing from Manchester, The Kaizen Records boss is known for her 120-170bpm sets, which can include anything from drum & bass to grime.  With artists such as Biome and Silas & Snare Surgeon releasing on her label, she is definitely one to watch in the music industry.  Adding to the already talented lineup are Bristol-based Boofy and Hi5 Ghost. Known for their incredible dubplate selection and their association with Bandulu records, their sets include freshly made dubs from the likes of them and Kahn & Neek.
