5 Things You Must Experience At Bestival 2017

It’s finally time for HMS Bestival to set sail for its new home at Lulworth Castle in Dorset. The festival has spent the last six months promoting its annual theme of Colour with the weekend set to a fun and laid-back experience with a supreme lineup of bands and DJs alike. Bestival boasts indie electronic trio The xx, old school hip-hop legends A Tribe Called Quest and 80s synth-pop duo Pet Shop Boys as 2017 headliners. Here are five things that you must experience at Bestival 2017.

Bestival 2014

5/ Kanye West Head

After playing host to a three metre high Lionel Richie head in 2013, Bestival has decided to one up themselves once more. 2017 will see Rob da Bank and team provide festival-goers with the view of a massive seven metre inflatable Kanye West head. The head is the brainchild of Spanish art collective Cool Shit who pride themselves on bringing the Internet to life and making meme culture a reality.

4/ A Tribe Called Quest

It has been announced, in a recent social media announcement by the band, that A Tribe Called Quest’s last EVER performance will be their Saturday night headline slot at Bestival. The legendary hip-hop group will grace Bestival’s main stage for a once in a lifetime show. Are you really going to let yourself miss out on this?

3/ Return of The Port

After last year’s theme, ‘The Future’, festival organisers sank HMS Bestival in replacement for The Space Port, a sci-fi-themed DJ arena. However, 2017 will see The Port return in all its glory. Sink the Pink, DJ Luck & MC Neat, Oxide & Neutrino and Jaguar Skills are just a few of the names ready to take the helm over the weekend.

2/ Justice

Electronic producer duo Justice have made a comeback this year after almost six years since the release of their last album. Justice’s third studio album, ‘Woman’, was released in November last year and since the pair have played some high profile gigs including a set at Glastonbury back in June. The French producers put on one hell of a party in The Big Top at Bestival 2012, so don’t miss the opportunity see them better it in their promoted slot on this year’s Castle Stage (main stage).

1/ Ambient Forrest

After the site move announcement, some were worried that Bestival’s infamous Ambient Forrest was lost. However, punters will see it make a return at Lulworth Castle and we’re all very excited. Immerse yourself deep in the transcendent woods for an explore, chill out or to discover even more that Bestival has on offer. Complete with its own stage, 2017’s Ambient Forrest promises to deliver the experience Bestival regulars know and love, whilst also giving people the chance to dive headfirst into something new.

Last few tickets available at www.bestival.net. We’ll see you there!
