Ohio Rock duo, Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun – also known as Twenty One Pilots concluded their Blurryface UK tour on Monday (29th Feb) in front of a sold out Portsmouth Guildhall.

Twenty one pilots are on tour with their fourth album, Blurryface, and are now beginning to visit the UK frequently, with three tours in the past 12 months.

Twenty One Pilots emerged onto the massively lit stage in typical fashion, wearing their trademark ski masks before opening with the first track on Blurryface, ‘HeavyDirtySoul’ to the delight of the big Portsmouth crowd.

This was just the start of things to come, as next up was the duo’s biggest hit with over 110 million views on YouTube, ‘Stressed Out’. What followed was a mixture of tracks from Blurryface, and third album Vessel.

After the duo played new track ‘Lane Boy’, they put together a medley of old favourites, featuring snippets from ‘Pantaloon’, ‘Semi Automatic’, ‘Forest’, ‘Ode To Sleep’ and ‘Screen’ all in the space of about 5 minutes, before returning to tracks from Vessel and Blurryface to see out the set.

After Tyler Joseph jokingly told the crowd that ‘Car Radio’ would be their final track of the night, the duo returned for an incredible encore, of the new version of ‘Goner’ before an extended ‘Trees’, which in typical twenty one pilots fashion, saw the duo dual-drum on top of the crowd on huge boxes, with a dry ice and confetti blasting out.

After seeing Twenty One Pilots at their debut Portsmouth show at the Wedgewood Rooms in early 2014, it was obvious they were never going to disappoint this time round. With pyrotechnics, a new album and many new fans to their name, they’re becoming one of the fastest growing bands in the world and have a live show not to be missed!

Twenty One Pilots next UK shows will be a slot on the NME stage at Reading and Leeds Festival and after the Portsmouth Guildhall show, it promises to be quite the occasion.
