inSYNC’s ‘Needed’ Track of the Week: ‘Say Something Loving’ by The xx

‘Say Something Loving’ is The xx’s second track to be released from their forthcoming LP ‘I See You’ due for release next week on the 13th January. The song is a shimmering and sparkling new addition from the trio, from an album which they describe as having a much more ‘celebratory’ vibe compared to their older work.

The song features the voices of both Oliver Sim and Romy Croft, along with Oliver’s own signatory guitar leads. Jamie’s input seems to come from a sampling from 1978 track ‘Do You Feel It?’ by The Alessi Brothers’; “Before it slips away”

‘Say Something Loving’ and the previous single ‘On Hold’ has left us with high expectations for their upcoming album just days away. The xx are also set to play a roster of live UK dates later this year, and we also expect to see them pop up at a number of UK festivals after being announced for Coachella earlier this week.

The song is currently available for listening on Spotify and Apple Music but can also be purchased from a range of digital retailers. Give us your thoughts!
