inSYNC’s ‘Needed’ Track of the Week: ‘Disco Yes’ by Tom Misch

Multi-instrumentalist Tom Misch has solidly cemented himself in the UK indie scene, also becoming a regular at many festivals up and down the country. 2018 is set to be another exciting year for the twenty-two-year-old with the release of his third studio album ‘Geography’, a UK tour and numerous festival dates including Bristol’s Love Saves The Day and Love Supreme, Britain’s biggest jazz festival.

Misch’s new record is perhaps his best to date; a bold statement of the artist’s talents pulling influences from a number of musical genres. The many disco and jazz-influenced guitar riffs and funk/soul basslines in this album make it easy on the ear, chilled out but also something you could get up and dance to.

Our ‘Needed’ track this week is ‘Disco Yes’, our favourite tune from this excellent LP. Tom’s flowing guitar riffs layered over a proper 70s sounding bassline make a track that you just can’t help tapping your feet to. Soulful musician and singer Poppy Ajudha features on ‘Disco Yes’, taking on a good proportion of the track. Listen to ‘Disco Yes’ and all of our other ‘Needed’ tracks below.
