Download Festival Headliners Announced

Making their fifth Download appearance and second main stage headlining appearance in two years is American metal band Slipknot, with the identities of the band’s current bassist and drummer still a mystery. Slipknot’s 2013 headline slot was a spectacular affair and was interrupted twice so that staff could repair the front barrier which had split under immense crowd pressure. The band will headline the opening night of the festival.

Saturday night will see British stadium rockers Muse make their Download Festival debut after spending time in 2014 in the studio working on their seventh album.

Bringing the festival to a close will be American hard rock band Kiss. The band who were formed in 1973, were induced into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.

The metal and rock festival in its thirteenth year will also feature Friday main stage performances from English metal outfit Judas Priest, who recently celebrated their 40th anniversary and American metal band Five Finger Death Punch, with American hard rockers Black Stone Cherry headlining the second stage.

Saturday will host American rock bands Faith No More and A Day To Remember join muse on the main stage bill with the legendary Marilyn Manson headlining the second stage.

American metal band Motley Crue, on what will be their final UK festival appearance will take to the main stage on Sunday as sub-headliners to Kiss with former Guns N Roses guitarist Slash with Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators also on the main stage bill. St. Albans rock four piece, Enter Shikari will headline the second stage in support of their new studio album, The Mindsweep.

Download Festival 2015 will take place at Donnington Park from Friday 12 to Sunday 14 June 2015. Tickets and more information @
