Bloom Presents Jane Fitz at Junk, Southampton

Junk is one of Southampton’s best nightclubs, offering party-goers the opportunity to experience some of the UK’s best underground dance music. Bloom is one of those bringing forward a unique dance offering to the south coast. For almost three years Bloom has brought its vinyl only events to multiple venues across the city. The party has never stopped moving, taking over different venues and spaces debuting at Room Service in the city’s Orange Rooms nightclub.

Bloom has grown organically, giving off an all-inclusive vibe alongside a deep desire to play only the very best dance music. Last week saw the promoter make its first appearance at Junk hosting British techno stalwart Jane Fitz. Regarded as a legend in the techno scene, Fitz has a reputation for playing genre-bending sets ranging from acid house and deep techno to psychedelic and ambient electronica.

Although quiet for a Saturday night, those attending Bloom we’re there for the impressive underground tech on offer. Jane Fitz shone through with her engaging minimalist style enthralling onlookers with an impressive range of tracks dipping in and out of a variant of genres. Fitz’s over twenty years of experience certainly showed and the way she commanded the decks throughout the set was special to watch.

For the lovers of the underground, Bloom is a night designed for you. The party continues with a second turn at Junk on April 21st. The promoter welcomes DJ Boring, a master of techno and house to the south. Tickets and info here.

THE GIG IN REVIEW:

  • Excellent underground dance music on offer with highly skilled DJs.
  • An all-inclusive vibe where only the music matters.
  • A great shame on low numbers but does not take anything away from the high standard of the night.
