Arctic Monkeys Return After Three Year Hiatus

It’s been over three years since Arctic Monkeys last played a live show and more than four since they released any new music. They headlined Reading & Leeds Festival in 2014 and announced a hiatus that was set t0 last two years. Better late than never I suppose. The Sheffield four-piece broke the silence a couple of weeks ago with a live date at a festival in the US. This was then followed by yesterday’s announcement of fifteen live shows at fifteen different festivals across Europe and America. The band also uploaded what is presumably their next album artwork on social media to a storm of activity. Their sixth studio record is due out soon but no details of tracklisting or release date have surfaced as of yet. On the list of tour dates, there is only one UK festival, TRSMT in Glasgow. Alex Turner and co are expected to announce a world tour too, which will no doubt include several UK dates, but we will have to wait a little bit longer for more details.
